Brand owner Ron Moak was fascinated by the Appalachian Trail after his first backpacking experience in high school. A few years later, he set out on the 3,500km Appalachian Trail with his wife Linda in the summer of 1977. Inspired by hikers like Grandma Gatewood, Ron and Linda began making their own hiking gear and completed the PCT in 2000.
In May 2002, Six Moon Designs produced its first product, the Europa Tent. Six Moon Designs' Lunar Solo uses the latest design and materials to provide the ideal solo camping experience. The floor has been extended to 228cm and the wall ends are now vertical, so even taller people can sleep soundly. The floor area has been slightly reduced, but it is easier to pitch in bad weather. With more vertical walls, the Lunar Solo offers better protection from wind and snow. The low hexagonal design means it can withstand wind from any direction. The steep sides make it easy to handle snow and high winds.

This amazing canopy has a sleeping area of ​​2.5 m² with an additional 1.1 m² vestibule. The tent's central peak is 121.9cm, providing maximum space for sitting and doing chores. The sleeping area has a bathtub height of 15cm, which allows for excellent ventilation and keeps your body away from the bottom of the canopy walls, reducing the risk of condensation on the canopy. The long tent has a vestibule on the side that can be fully opened to maximize views and ventilation. When closed, the vestibule provides amazing protection from the worst weather.
