Six Moon Designs' "Six Moon" was named after the fact that it takes about six months to complete the 4,279 km Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). When brand owner Ron Moak experienced the PCT in 2000, he felt a strong need for lightweight gear, which inspired him to create innovative ultra-lightweight gear.

Ever since his first backpacking experience on the Appalachian Trail in high school, brand owner Ron Moak has been completely captivated by it. A few years later, he set out on the 3,500km Appalachian Trail with his wife Linda in the summer of 1977. Inspired by hikers like Grandma Gatewood, Ron and Linda began making their own hiking gear and completed the PCT in 2000.
In May 2002, Six Moon Designs produced its first product, the Europa Tent. The Europa Tent met various criteria, such as being lightweight yet sturdy, easy to set up, and reasonably priced, making it a tent that is suitable for a wide range of use, including in the backcountry. Since then, the company has released a series of innovative products, including the Starlight Pack, Gatewood Cape, and Luna Solo. Ron is one of the few hikers to have achieved the Triple Crown. His extensive experience on the trails has led to the development of excellent gear for all those who enjoy the outdoors. Six Moon Designs is based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

★SIX MOON DESIGNS Deschutes Tarp 400g Shelter Tent for 1 person★

A spacious one-person tarp tent that can be used without problems even in bad weather. The DeschutesTarp has three features that allow you to use it safely in any bad weather by rolling up the entrance door and using it like a tarp, or by closing the door. *Trekking poles etc. are not included in the product.

■ Ground clearance

The tarp has a sufficient ground clearance of 122cm, so there is no sense of oppression, and the effective internal area is larger than it appears. You can use the tarp comfortably without having to step outside the tarp, as the tent will not hit your back when cooking or changing clothes.

■ Sufficient depth

The short side is 106cm, and the maximum depth including all rooms is 203cm, which is wider than the company's Lunar Solo and is large enough for one person to use. If you sit in the middle, you can spend the night safely in bad weather without worrying about splashes.

■ Intentionally designed entrance with ventilation in mind

The unique door design is short for a normal tent door, allowing fresh air in at all times while significantly cutting down on rain blowing in. The short zipper is placed for easy entry and exit.

When you are worried about bugs or snow blowing in, you can add an inner tent with a high bathtub floor by combining it with the serenity net tent (sold separately). The main body alone weighs 375g, and the double wall version with net weighs 685g, making it very light despite the large usable area. This item is unique in that it allows you to enjoy the open feeling that is the original appeal of tarps while also providing a safe design. It has an atmosphere that makes you want to try it out in the quiet mountains in deep autumn or at the beginning of spring.

★Deschutes Tarp 400g★

The Deschutes Tarp is an ultra-lightweight shelter designed to provide maximum protection with minimal weight. It is perfect for those looking for a lightweight yet spacious light shelter. It offers a larger coverage area than traditional tarps, but weighs about half as much. The interior is spacious and tall enough to spread out your gear and sit up. It is the perfect combination with the Serenity Net Tent. When combined, it creates a spacious double-walled solo tent. It is a one-person tent, but can also be used by two people.

The single pole hexagonal design provides maximum protection while remaining lightweight.

Storage size: 38cm x 15cm. Can be made even smaller when packed tightly.

When combined with the Serenity Net Tent, it can also be used as a one-person tent.
