Six Moon Designs' "Six Moon" was named after the fact that it takes about six months to complete the 4,279 km Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). When brand owner Ron Moak experienced the PCT in 2000, he felt a strong need for lightweight gear, which inspired him to create innovative ultra-lightweight gear.
[Brand Story]
Ever since his first backpacking experience on the Appalachian Trail in high school, brand owner Ron Moak has been completely captivated by it. A few years later, he set out on the 3,500km Appalachian Trail with his wife Linda in the summer of 1977. Inspired by hikers like Grandma Gatewood, Ron and Linda began making their own hiking gear and completed the PCT in 2000.
In May 2002, Six Moon Designs produced its first product, the Europa Tent. The Europa Tent met various criteria, such as being lightweight yet sturdy, easy to set up, and reasonably priced, making it a tent that is suitable for a wide range of use, including in the backcountry. Since then, the company has released a series of innovative products, including the Starlight Pack, Gatewood Cape, and Luna Solo. Ron is one of the few hikers to have achieved the Triple Crown. His extensive experience on the trails has led to the development of excellent gear for all those who enjoy the outdoors. Six Moon Designs is based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

The Gatewood Cape can be used as a bivy, tarp or cape. It can be used for three purposes! It can also be used as a one-person tent when combined with the Serenity Net Tent. Even in that case, it weighs less than 650g!
[Deschutes Tarp]
A spacious one-person tarp tent that can be used without problems even in bad weather. The DeschutesTarp has three features that allow you to use it safely in any bad weather by rolling up the entrance door and using it like a tarp, or by closing the door.
[Deschutes Tarp Plus]
A tarp tent that perfectly balances openness and comfort. The Deschutes Plus Tarp is the successor to SMD's most maniacal shelter, the Wild OASIS. The interior height has been increased from 115cm to 122cm, greatly improving livability!
[Haven Tarp]
A two-person tent with a large floor area and removable mosquito net that can be used all year round. The unique design, which allows you to drop sharply from the two apexes using trekking poles, is highly wind resistant and has a larger internal area than you would imagine.

[Owyhee Tarp]
Called the Owyhee, the tarp comes with an insect repellent mesh skirt (approximately 18 inches wide), so you don't need to carry a separate bug net to keep out those pesky mosquitoes.

This set includes the Deschutes Tarp 400g and the Serenity NetTent 300g. The Deschutes Tarp weighs just 400g and can be used alone as a 1 or 2 person shelter, or used with the Serenity Net Tent to create an ultra-lightweight double fall tent weighing just 700g.

This is the inner tent of the GateWoodCape, but it can also be set up separately. It can be used with a variety of tents and tarps. Combining the two creates a lightweight double-wall tent weighing just 630g.

This is a Haven Tarp inner tent, but can also be set up on its own. It is a mesh shelter for two people that can be used in conjunction with various tarps.

[Carbon Pole]
The carbon fiber poles made for Six Moon Design tarps and net tents are stronger and lighter than aluminum. If you don't have trekking poles, we recommend these carbon fiber poles.
[Aluminum Pole]
These custom made 116cm ultra-lightweight aluminium poles are designed to support Six Moon Designs tents, tarps and net tents and are about half the price of carbon fibre poles, making them a great cost-saving option.
[6 Piece Stake Set]
The 6-piece stake set includes six 7" 7000 series aluminum Y-stakes. The Y-shaped stakes have optimal holding power. Each stake has a pull cord for easy removal.
[5 Section Carbon Tent Pole 116cm / 124cm]
Previous carbon tent poles could be folded into three sections for storage, but the new poles have five sections. Therefore, the length when stored is less than 30cm. It can be easily stored in a backpack pocket.
