OUTSIDE Outside In's Toast n' Roast is a cast iron multi-grill plate that can be used to make hot sandwiches using two slices of bread, paninis made with baguettes, and can be used to grill anything from meat to fish to vegetables by dividing it into upper and lower parts. *This product is handmade by craftsmen and cannot be mass-produced, so it is only available once a month. If it is out of stock, we will take reservations, but if we cannot make it in time or if we are busy with orders, we will take reservations from the next batch. Please note that we cannot accept cancellations due to delivery dates.

Made in Niigata, Sanjo

It is made of heavy, strong ductile cast iron in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, a town famous for metal processing and where OOUTSIDE IN is based. It has a unique neo-classical design, and even the handle is cast in one piece, making it a difficult design that would make any foundry worker cry, but it is beautifully made by the craftsmanship of Sanjo.

Can be used with various cooking appliances such as induction cookers

You can grill it outdoors over a bonfire or charcoal fire. Of course, it can be used on a gas stove, and it is also compatible with induction cookers, so you can easily enjoy hot sandwiches at home. *The plate part is large, so when cooking with induction, it is a good idea to shift the part you want to heat little by little.

It is large enough to make two sets of hot sandwiches at once.

It is a rectangle the size of two slices of bread placed side by side, and the thickness is perfect for a 6-slice bread, so it can hold plenty of ingredients (you can also cut it into 8 slices if you have a lot of ingredients). *The crust of the bread is not crushed. It is also suitable for making paninis with French bread or campagne.

Can be used as two separate plates

It has a structure that can be separated into two plates, top and bottom, so it can be used to grill meat, fish, vegetables, etc.

How to use

Spread olive oil or salad oil evenly on the inside of the Toast n' Roast. Place your favorite ingredients on the bottom bread, then the top bread. Place the top part on top, shifting it slightly, and lock it with the slide lock mechanism on the handle. Cook for 2-3 minutes over low-medium heat, then flip it over and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes and it's done. For induction cookers and cookers with a narrow heat source range, shift the part you are heating little by little so that the plate heats evenly. After use, wash with a scrubbing brush, etc., using as little detergent as possible. After washing, heat it over a fire and dry it, and while it is hot, apply vegetable oil all over and let it soak in.

About cast iron products

Due to the manufacturing process, the cast iron surface may have rough surfaces and uneven coloring, but these are not abnormal or defective. We hope you will treat it with affection as proof that it was hand-finished by Tsubame-Sanjo craftsmen. The uneven coloring will never completely disappear, but the color will gradually blend in with use, so please enjoy the change in the color of the iron.

For those who are not familiar with cast iron products

This product is made of iron. It has been pre-seasoned (oiled) to prevent rust, but if it is left wet or the oil film is removed, it will rust. There is no problem with the product, so please remove the rust and re-oil it. Due to its weight, the packaging box may be torn. Thank you for your understanding.
