★Bush Craft Inc.★
In modern times, it is an outdoor style that allows you to become more one with nature. If you separate the words, you get "bush" and "craft," but when you combine them, the meaning changes to "bushcraft" = wisdom for life. Long before we were born, our ancestors lived in harmony with nature. They had the wisdom to live with the forest. Bushcraft is an "old and new style" that reminds us of that. Bushcraft techniques start with knifework and firemaking.Click here for a list of Bush Craft Inc products
★Fly Fishing Starting Set 764-6 Bush Craft Fishing Equipment Fishing Outdoor Camping Bush Craft★
This set is sure to satisfy beginners and intermediate anglers alike. It's a great value fly fishing starter set with 11 items in one, and is mainly targeted at Japanese mountain streams and pipe fishing. The developer of Bush Craft completed this set with the support of a pro shop with 30 years of experience and skill in fly fishing.
[Other useful basic items]
・Floatant (something that keeps dry flies buoyant)
- Tissues, etc. (to remove moisture from dry flies. Special tissues are available.)
・Forceps (to remove needles if swallowed)
・Landing net (some may be available for rental when fishing in a tube)
- Fish traps (these are mostly underwater nets used to keep fish alive, but there are also portable ones with cooling functions)
①【Rod】
Bush Craft Inc. Carbon Fly Rod "Stream Hunter". The lapis lazuli color scheme stands out both at the fishing spot and in photos.
Specifications: 7.6ft #4 6P medium-fast action. A medium-fast action that is easy to use and has excellent controllability for beginners and experts alike. The assembled length of 7.6 feet and the #4 number (the weight of the fly line) setting are among the most standard specifications for Japanese mountain streams, and are versatile enough to be used in many trout fishing stages, including mountain stream, pipe fishing, and boat fishing. In addition, the number of joints is 6 pieces, which is unique to Bush Craft Inc. When disassembled and stored, the length becomes a "pack rod" that fits within 42 cm. It is very cost-effective to include a rod with this tone and specifications at this price.
②【Fly reel】
This fly reel is made of aluminum and has a black coating that gives it a sharp impression. It rotates without any resistance when rotating forward (winding), so you can even "wind the spool as if bouncing it." The drag only works in reverse (the direction it is pulled out), making a pleasant drag sound. It can be adjusted steplessly with the dial in the center of the spool. Another point that sets it apart from other manufacturers is that it is shipped with a left-handed reel. Soma, the developer of this set, believes that left-handed reeling is more efficient, but this can be changed to right-handed reeling according to the user's preference.
③【Fly line】
Bush Craft Inc. "Single Handed Spey" #4 is included. It is characterized by three color-coded sections. It can be broadly divided into a light-colored shooting section and a dark-colored handling section, and the shooting section is further color-coded yellow and orange. This coloring serves as a guide, allowing you to freely perform various casting techniques such as overhead, roll, and spey.
・Orange tip This is called the "front taper". It is a section used for close-range delicate casting, and although it does not have the power to cast, it allows for delicate control and a quiet landing.
・Middle yellow: When you want to make the most of this line, use it from the tip of the rod. This is the heaviest part of the line, and the load on the rod changes depending on how much of the yellow section you put out.
The most stress is placed on the line when all of the yellow line has been released, and in this state, you can aim for a distance of 10m or more (the landing point of the fly, including the leader and tippet) just by roll casting. Also, as the name of the product suggests, this line's true potential is in the "single-handed spey cast." The line may feel a little long on the rods included in the set, but you can adjust the "length" of the line yourself. If you're at the level of spey fishing, you'll naturally understand this.
④【Backing line】
It is like the "bottom winding" that you wind at the very beginning (center) of the reel. After winding this, you connect the fly line. If you search the internet for detailed setting methods, you will find a lot of information, so choose according to your preference.
⑤【Leader】
This is a tapered line that is attached after the fly line (at the tip). It is necessary to smoothly transmit kinetic energy to the tippet (see next section) and create a beautiful loop. It is the second most frequently replaced consumable item after the tippet.
⑥【Tippet】
This is what is called "line" and is connected to the leader. The rig is completed when you attach the fly to the end of it.
⑦【Indicator】
It is what is known as a "float" and is attached somewhere between the end of the leader and the tippet when using nymph flies. Just like bait fishing, it is an indicator to catch a bite. Fishing methods using indicators are also called "indicator fishing" or "loosening" and are an established method used even by advanced anglers, so please use them as much as possible. In some cases, indicators are prohibited in pipe fishing, etc.
⑧【Complete Fly Basic Set】
This is a great value set of basic flies made by Bush Craft Inc. It covers all seasons and contains flies that can be used anywhere. However, beginners tend to lose flies (they get caught on land or branches and break), so we recommend replenishing your flies with the same product sold separately or sold individually.
9. Clipper
Line cutting scissors. A simple but essential item that you can't fish without.
10. Rod case (soft type)
This is a storage bag that can be rolled up and has six compartments for storing one rod in each compartment. If you want to save weight in the headwaters, most people will only use this case.
⑪【Rod case (hard case)】
The tube part of the rod protection is made of PVC and is sturdy. It protects the rod securely. You can store everything you need, including rods, reels, and other equipment, in one pack.
