This knife is a work of art made from a single horn, from handle to blade. In other words, it is not a knife that can cut like a blade. It can be used as a table knife, butter knife, paper knife, etc. The works of Terui, a Hokkaido Ezo deer craftsman, can also be found in souvenir shops in Hokkaido. Each piece is carefully made and sure to inspire the hearts of nature-loving outdoorsmen. Since it is made from natural materials, there are individual differences in the uneven patterns. The dullness of the blade is not dirt, but the color of the material (core).

・What is Ezo deer?

"Ezo" was a word that referred to Hokkaido in the past. It is the largest species of deer in Japan, and it is the species that inhabits Hokkaido. Ezo deer that live in the vast Hokkaido grow larger and larger in stature and antlers than deer in Honshu. It is said that the reason their antlers spread out more widely than those of Honshu is because they live in spacious forests and do not get in the way.

How to get antlers

Deer antlers naturally fall off in early spring every year and grow back. These antlers grow back in time for the mating season in the fall (to fight with other males). Deer antlers are collected by going into the forest to pick up the antlers that have fallen off during the molting process. By the way, only males grow antlers.
