A natural fire starter, cut straight from "natural pine trees".
It is made by cutting out only the parts of the tree that contain a lot of pine resin, and in Japan it is called "Hidematsu (Kanto region)", "Koematsu (Kansai region)" or "Abumatsu (Tohoku region)", and although it is no longer in use today, it seems to have a long history. It is a synonym for "torch" and was actually often used as a light source outdoors.
