Six Moon Designs Six Moon Designs
Six Moon Designs' "Six Moon" was named after the fact that it takes about six months to complete the 4,279 km Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). When brand owner Ron Moak experienced the PCT in 2000, he felt a strong need for lightweight gear, which inspired him to create innovative ultra-lightweight gear.
[Brand Story]
Brand owner Ron Moak was fascinated by the Appalachian Trail after his first backpacking experience in high school. A few years later, he set out on the 3,500km Appalachian Trail with his wife Linda in the summer of 1977. Inspired by hikers like Grandma Gatewood, Ron and Linda began making their own hiking gear and completed the PCT in 2000.
In May 2002, Six Moon Designs produced its first product, the Europa Tent. The Europa Tent met various criteria, such as being lightweight yet sturdy, easy to set up, and reasonably priced, making it a tent that is suitable for a wide range of use, including in the backcountry. Since then, the company has released a series of innovative products, including the Starlight Pack, Gatewood Cape, and Luna Solo. Ron is one of the few hikers to have achieved the Triple Crown. His extensive experience on the trails has led to the development of excellent gear for all those who enjoy the outdoors. Six Moon Designs is based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Six Moon Designs Deschutes Zero G Tarp DCF Tent Tarp Shelter Solo 1 Person Six Moon Designs Deschutes Tarp Zero-G DCF
Among sixmoondesigns' shelters, this is the DCF version of DeschutesTarp, which is characterized by its shape that is somewhere between a tarp and a shelter. It is made super lightweight, weighing only 227g, while creating a large space that is comfortable even in the rain. If you open the entrance door and use it like a tarp, or close the door and set it up low, it can be used as a windproof shelter that keeps rain from getting inside even in bad weather! The biggest attraction of this item is its spacious interior. As you can see from thinking of it as a version of Lunasolo without a mosquito net, not only is it spacious enough for one person to relax in, but also has enough room to put your bike inside when bikepacking, and it can be used as a secret trick, but if you use it in combination with a bivy sack, you can use the long side of 251cm to sleep vertically with two people and separate your personal space by sandwiching the poles between them, making it large enough to be used. Even if you set it up on the ground, the interior height of 125cm does not feel oppressive.
In addition, you can add an inner tent, the Serenity Net Tent, as a mosquito net in the summer. The main body alone weighs 227g, so it can also be used as a 540g double-wall tent. This item is unique in that it is designed to not collapse even in strong winds, while also allowing you to enjoy the open feeling that is the original appeal of tarps. It is resistant to rain, so you can use it in any weather and in various seasons. Please try using it according to your mood at the time. *Poles are not included.
Try it
Bikepacking is often done by two people, so I also use it in combination with a bivy sack as a tarp shelter for two people. There is no sense of oppression even with two people. It is easy to use. Rain is no problem. It weighs only 227g, so it is spacious even when used by one person, so it is really light if you don't bring a bivy sack. All you need is a ground sheet.
